​Kowhai Coromandel has been owned and operated by Gavin Bond since 2006.

 

Gavin worked for a residential and commercial painting firm in Auckland for a couple of years before moving into roof restoration, something he’s been doing for over 20 years. About 17 years ago he took on the Kowhai Franchise and has grown it into a team of three.

 

It’s a real family affair as working alongside him are his brother-in-law and nephew, both of whom take ownership of their work and treat the business as if it were their own.

The team is just as invested in working safely and everyone holds current ‘Working at Heights’ certification.

​

Gavin gives back to his local community by supporting the Westpac Helicopter, although he says he has a vested interest in making sure they remain operational, because outside of work he’s a keen hunter and fisherman and often goes out into remote areas to pursue his passions.
